Ambassador Lepre meets UNOOSA Director and participates in COPUOS Scientific and Technical Subcommittee

Ambassador Debora Lepre, Permanent Representative of Italy to the International Organisations in Vienna, has taken the floor during the 61st session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of COPUOS, the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

In her statement, Ambassador Lepre assured that Italy will make use of its current G7 Presidency to reinforce the central importance of the space sector, and to foster peaceful uses of outer space and space applications as means to positively contributing to sustainable development.

In the margins of the Subcommittee session, Ambassador Lepre also met UNOOSA Director Aarti Holla-Maini, to further discuss the priorities of the Italian G7 Presidency, as well as the preparations for the upcoming Summit for the Future and for the 2024 International Astronautical Congress, that will take place in Milan.
