Amb. Debora Lepre welcomes 2024 UN Disarmament Fellows during their visit to the Wassenaar

Ambassador Debora Lepre, Italian Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna and Wassenaar Plenary Chair for 2024, and Head of Wassenar Secretariat, Ambassador György Molnár, welcomed today the 2024 United Nations Disarmament Fellows during their study visit to Vienna. The Fellows represented 25 countries, including five Wassenar Participating States.

During the meeting, that took place at the Wassenaar Arrangement premises, the Fellows were briefed on the policy aspects of the Arrangement’s work and were introduced to the Wassenar Control Lists.

In her welcoming remarks, Ambassador Lepre commended the work of the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs in organizing the fellowship. “This program is a valuable investment in the future of multilateralism” the Ambassador said, adding that many fellow predecessor have found themselves working in the Vienna-based organisations.
