The President of Lombardy Regional Government, Attilio Fontana, was in Vienna on 24 January to explore possible synergies and collaboration opportunities in the framework of development cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Accompanied by Ambassador Debora Lepre, Permanent Representative of Italy to the International Organisations in Vienna, Fontana had meetings with UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller and with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi.
President Fontana’s delegation included Raffaele Cattaneo (the Region’s Undersecretary for interational relations and Europe), Paolo Sensale (spokeperson of the President), Marialuisa Scalise (Director of international relations) and Antonino Lombardo (office for development cooperation).
Italy’s Ambassador to Austria Giovanni Pugliese hosted the delegation at Palais Metternich for a working lunch that focused on bilateral relations, also with a view to identifying perspectives and opportunities for Lombardy’s enterprises.
