Among others, the pandemic has taken away from us the pleasure of gathering for the celebration of the Italian National Day, on June 2nd.
Nonetheless, there is no less reason – albeit virtually – to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Republic and to remember the shared values that bind our national community.
These include solidarity and respect for the freedom and dignity of each human being, combined with the inventiveness and creativity that characterize the Italian people.
These values are translated, at the international level, in the constant search for cooperation and dialogue as tools to promote mutual interests, in full recognition of the importance of multilateralism.
These same principles guide the activities of the Italian Permanent Mission, vis-à-vis the International Organizations present in Vienna.
Our work benefits from the fruitful cooperation with a number of national and international actors, in particular other Permanent Missions and the officials working in the International Organizations, to whom go my full appreciation and recognition.
On the occasion of the Italian National Day, I wish to send you my most sincere wishes in the hope of returning soon to see you again.
Viva la Repubblica!
