First International Day against Transnational Organized Crime

2

Last 15 November 2024, a High-Level Event has been held at the United Nations in Vienna to celebrate the First International Day against Transnational Organized Crime, established this year, at the initiative of Italy, with a resolution of the General Assembly. The High-Level Event, whose panel included, among others, the Executive Director of UNODC, Ghada Waly, and Ambassador Debora Lepre, Permanent Representative of Italy, represented the culmination of a month of preparatory initiatives – launched in October by the XII session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC-CoP) -, the first of which was the exhibition “Cooperation in the fight against transnational organised crime – Italy’s experience”, inaugurated on the margins of UNTOC-CoP, and which illustrated Italy’s experience in the fight against transnational organized crime.
