The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), whose mandate is to promote the progressive harmonization and unification of international trade on a global scale, held its 58th session in Vienna from 7 to 23 July 2025.
Italy participated in the session with a delegation of experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, led by Ambassador Debora Lepre. The Commission approved a draft Convention on negotiable cargo documents, and adopted two toolkits, respectively on Asset Tracing and Recovery in Insolvency Proceedings and on Prevention and Mitigation of International Investment Disputes.
Ambassador Lepre also opened the side event “Empowering Women in Global Digital Trade”, organized in the margins of the session (click here to read more about the event).
