The 69th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) opened today at the Vienna International Centre.
As the main policy-making organ of the IAEA, the Conference gathers every year thousands of delegates, among political representatives, technical experts, regulatory authorities and industries of the nuclear sector from the Agency’s Member States.
Italy is attending with a large delegation of public and private stakeholders, led by Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli and Ambassador Debora Lepre, and with a national exhibition stand showcasing the Italian know-how in the research and development of nuclear applications, focussing in particular on the fields of water, cultural heritage and innovation.
