Opportunities for young women<\/strong><\/p>\n

Specific opportunities are aimed at female students and young professionals, particularly to promote greater female participation in STEM fields. To this end, numerous initiatives are promoted, including the provision of scholarships and participation in mentoring programmes.<\/p>\n

IAEA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two flagship initiatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency<\/span><\/span> to promote gender equality in the nuclear sector are the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Fellowship Programme<\/span><\/span> and the Lise Meitner Programme<\/span><\/span>. These are two complementary initiatives aimed at encouraging female university students to pursue studies in nuclear-related fields through the provision of scholarships, as well as offering training opportunities to young women who choose to embark on a career in this field.<\/p>\n

UNOOSA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Within Space4Women<\/span><\/span>, an initiative of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs<\/span><\/span> aimed at promoting gender equality, a mentoring programme is offered in which young women are paired with more experienced professionals who can guide them through opportunities in the space sector.<\/p>\n

CTBTO <\/strong><\/p>\n

A mentoring programme aimed at increasing female participation in STEM is also active within the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization<\/span><\/span>. Opportunities are published periodically through calls issued by the organization and are promoted by this Permanent Representation on its website.<\/p>\n

UNODC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active since 2025, the programme called LEADERS Fellowship<\/span><\/span> aims to bring together women experts in forensic science from around the world at the Drug Laboratory of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime<\/span><\/span> in Vienna. The fellowship seeks to provide first-hand knowledge of international drug control conventions and training in advanced laboratory techniques.<\/p>\n
